Pacific Track’s ELD hardware provides vastly superior functionality compared to a generic interface dongle.

Using built-in GPS, we reduce the burden on the processor and battery in the tablet or smart phone that is running the ELD app.

In tandem with internal flash memory storage, built-in GPS also ensures that, per ELD rules, hours of service events are captured even if the tablet or smart phone is not present in the vehicle.

Using the tablet or smart phone hosting the ELD app as the cellular device, instead of having an internal cellular modem in the Pacific Track ELD hardware, offers multiple benefits, including a reduction in initial hardware cost and ongoing operating costs, as well as decreased technical risk and complexity, and reduced business risk (obsolescence).
